Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has launched two UK Government bond ETFs, offering exposure to a diversified basket of gilts across all maturities. The iShares £ Index-Linked Gilts and FTSE UK All Stocks Gilt, launched on 4 December, both track the FTSE UK Gilts Index Series index. According to BGI, the first can be used to offset the inflation risk in a portfolio while the second can provide diversification away from equities and a steady income.
