Individual investor tax positions will be complicated by a move to tax bond, equity and cash elements within a single fund at separate rates. This would mean allocation between asset classes on funds plays a far greater role in investor's tax liabilities. However, under the same Government initiative, fund managers will be given greater flexibility in the way in which their portfolios can be managed, allowing them to allocate between asset classes more freely.
