Williams de Broe is to launch a fund of funds in 2003 aimed at UK intermediaries. At present, the private client stockbroker analyses and selects individual funds for intermediaries and private clients but has no umbrella wrapper for the individual selections. This means clients can crystallise capital gains liabilities each time units in a fund are sold profitably, rather than in a multi-manager product, where tax liabilities may only arise when investors deal at the fund of funds level.
