A wave of liquidations in the split capital trust market has begun to materialise as the FTSE 100 dips below the 4,000 level for the first time since December 1996. Following further deterioration in the value of Aberdeen Asset Management's Media & Income split capital investment trust, the board has now appointed receivers to the trust. Simon Brewer and Mike Hore, partners from RSM Robson Rhodes, have been appointed as joint administrative receivers to the trust and have been given the task of realising the best value from its portfolio.
