Invesco planned to launch an Asian close-end fund, and then open end it a year after it launched, in order to ensure a smooth first year and enable it to expand the vehicle in later years. Invesco Asianet is domiciled in Dublin but was to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. The managing director of the specialist funds division at the group said that one of the main reasons the vehicle was to be initially close ended was to allow the portfolio to be fully invested.
