Nomura International has recruited Stefano Ghersi from Merrill Lynch for its debt markets division. Ghersi was managing director of debt markets at Merrill Lynch. Before that he was head of Southern European debt capital markets at BNP Paribas. He will start at Nomura next month. Nomura has suffered losses of its own in the debt markets division in recent weeks, including Sid Prasad, who ran primary markets, and Bill Frewin, head of credit trading.
