Ratings agency Old Broad Street Research (OBSR) has suspended the A rating on the First State Indian Subcontinent fund following the manager’s departure. Vijay Tohani has resigned from the group, handing the portfolio to deputy manager David Gait with immediate effect. Head of the Asia Pacific and Global Emerging Markets desk Angus Tulloch will take over as deputy manager. OBSR’s research director Richard Romer-Lee said: “OBSR has met both David Gait and Angus Tulloch on numerous occasions previously and will look to discuss the staff changes with First State at the earliest opportunity.”
