European stocks are down in early trading, with financials mirroring declines seen by the US counterparts. In the UK, miners are leading the way this morning with banks including RBS, Barclays and HBOS suffering. Inflation fears are expected to weigh on markets today, with the Bank of England's quarterly inflation report due to be published.
