Aviva Investors is adding a sterling share class to its Global Convertibles Sicav following demand from UK retail investors. The $873m vehicle is a sub-fund of the Aviva Investors Luxembourg Sicav, run by Morley manager Tom Wills alongside David Clott and Shawn Mato. It launched in 2002 with the dollar as its base currency, and a euro share class was added last year. A spokesman for the group said UK investors are beginning to understand how convertibles work, and the strategy holds greater appeal amid the current market volatility.
