BlackRock's Will Landers on the prospects for a rapidly growing market spurred by commodity demand.

Will Landers is manager of the $500m BlackRock Latin American investment trust and $7bn BGF Latin American fund. The world’s largest investor in South American equities has built up a formidable track record since taking on the trust in 2006. On a three-year view it has returned 139.3%, beating the 112% from the MSCI EM Latin American index, according to Standard & Poor’s. However, over one year performance has slipped – the trust’s net asset value has fallen 5.9% against a 0.1% fall in the benchmark.
