Mortgage intermediaries are overlooking the need to extend their regulation applications to include general insurance permission, according to network Select & Protect (S&P). Simon Hood, chief executive of S&P, said: "Many advisers have overlooked extending their mortgage application to include general insurance (GI). More worryingly, some advisers have made little or no progress toward GI regulation, opening themselves up to a potential decline in an important income stream."
