Manager admits tool is not flawless but US banks call made major contribution to returns

Peter Saacke has emphasised the role of quants tool SmartGARP for stock selection on his Artemis European Growth and Global Growth funds. He said the system frequently throws up interesting and sensible stock ideas, while removing the emotional aspect of stockpicking, which can lead to mistakes. Saacke said: "SmartGARP is like an analyst that proposes stock ideas to you. It is then my job to take the last step to improve decision-making."
