JP Morgan Asset Management is positive on Asian equities in its view that select equity markets are a better bet for the first half of 2006, an expected period of low returns. Investment director Edmund Brandt noted within Asian equities, the group is overweight Hong Kong, Singapore and India and is more positive about Chinese equities. He noted: “Asian stocks were conspicuous laggards among emerging markets during 2005, despite attractive valuations.
