The latest IMA figures reveal investors are still buying into equities at market peaks, according to research from Close Fund Management. Marc Gordon, managing director at Close, says IMA figures show a strong correlation between FTSE 100 performance and net retail sales. While net retail figures include all asset classes, the largest proportion of sales are in equities, he says, adding that individuals are investing in equities at the ill-advised time of market peak, rather than market trough.
