The IMS Select fund has been hit by its overweight exposure to Japan but co-manager Paul Kim remains positive on the Japanese market despite its troubles earlier this year. Stressing that the country was a good source of performance last year, Kim said, while the other sectors in the portfolio have performed well this year, its Japanese exposure has been a detractor. The vehicle currently invests 10% of its £56.5m assets in Japanese funds and that weighting resulted in a 2% loss of fund performance, Kim said.
