One to Watch: Powe's Man GLG Continental European Growth fund

Rory Powe was well known to fund buyers as a star European equity fund manager at Invesco Perpetual during the 1980s and 1990s, where he ran the group's flagship European Growth fund from 1991 for ten years.

Now, after a 12-year break from retail fund management when he ran his own company Powe Capital Management, he has returned to run the Man GLG Continental European Growth fund. Since taking over in October 2014, the fund's AUM has jumped from around £70m to £440m in July 2016, with the vehicle near the top of its sector over one year and three months during a volatile period for European markets. From 31 October 2014 to 20 July 2016, the European Continental Growth fund has returned 57%, against the IA Europe ex UK sector average of 19%, and the benchmark FTSE Europe ex UK return of 1...
