Fund managers ‘must answer the big questions' on pension reforms

Fund managers must answer the government's "big questions" on pension reforms, Henderson's head of UK retail Simon Hillenbrand has said.

Changes giving retirees more control of their pension savings have made it incumbent on fund managers to come up with appropriate products, a challenge the industry must meet head on, he said. “The government will be casting their net a bit further in terms of who they look to for the answers,” added Hillenbrand (pictured). “We would not be surprised if the authorities expect fund groups and life companies to think pretty hard about what will be available post-reforms.
