Arguments for the beleagured Europe ex UK sector are getting stronger, but growth figures flatter the region warn managers
A year ago, the Europe ex UK sector was largely friendless. Battered by a constant stream of poor newsflow, bailout upon bailout and the potential implosion of some of the eurozone’s big economies, 2010 was a torrid year for most investors in the sector. However, not only has it been the top-performing sector year to date in 2011, first quarter GDP growth in the eurozone was nearly twice that of the US.
