Time for some conviction amid geopolitical turmoil

Premier's Simon King says the pattern of the first quarter is likely to continue throughout 2011.

The UK market may be flat for the year so far, but this masks a roller-coaster of a ride with the post-Christmas investor euphoria being challenged by a series of major geopolitical events. Given the scale of these events, it is tempting for the market bulls to jump back on their soapboxes and crow about how resilient the market is and that the current falls are merely a blip in an inexorable uptrend in the indices.
