Since taking the helm from Carl Stick, Marina Bond's Rathbone £52m Smaller Companies fund has made steady progress in the sector

Marina Bond was handed sole responsibility of the £52m Rathbone Smaller Companies fund in July 2005, having worked alongside Carl Stick for nearly two years. She has continued the fund's steady sector-beating returns with her lower risk, pure stockpicking style. Over one year to 2 April, the fund is up 20.4% on a bid-to-bid basis, according to Morningstar, placing it 18th in the 51-strong UK Smaller Companies sector.
