Along with property, commodities has been one of the hot asset classes of the past year. Infrastructure projects in developing economies have fuelled a boom in commodity prices and analysts regularly debate just how long this is likely to last. Resources firms in Australia have been some of the primary beneficiaries of the commodities boom, as has Oceanic Asset Management based in Perth. The firm's flagship £54m Australian Natural Resources fund has seen growth of 38.7% over the single year to the end of May, according to the group.
