As with other balanced sectors, fast-growing global emerging markets have driven returns from the funds topping the Active Managed sector over three years to 19 November. Unsurprisingly, portfolios with little or no exposure to the poorly performing US markets have also delivered the strongest returns. Robin Geffen's £66.5m Neptune Global Alpha fund has consistently been top quartile since inception in 2001, with the exception of the bear market of 2002-03.
