Rathbones is one of those names that seems to have been around forever. Indeed, a glance at the wealth management firm's logo will tell you it was founded in 1742. So it may come as a surprise to learn that its fund management arm, Rathbone Unit Trust Management, has a history stretching back barely a decade. This contrast is mirrored in RUTM itself, founded in 1999 after Rathbones decided to beef up its unit trust arm Laurence Keen, which until then had mainly served the firm's own private clients.
