Seven years of top-quartile performance from the Old Mutual North American Equity portfolio speak volumes for Mark Stevens' investment model

Old Mutual has run its North American Equity fund on a quantitative model for nearly seven years, leading to top-quartile returns on a one, three and five-year basis. The fund is ranked fourth in the 69-strong North American sector over three years to 4 June, returning 50.2% bid to bid compared to the peer group average of 32.1%, according to Morningstar. Fund head Mark Stevens has experience in fundamental management as well as quantitative analysis.
