UK Equity Income funds have consistently been among the top sellers in recent years and the top performers have generated strong returns. Morningstar figures show that over three years to 8 October, the average fund in the peer group has returned 53.65% bid to bid, with an 8% average over the last year. The IMA sets these funds a target of achieving a yield equivalent to 110% of that on the FTSE All-Share index.
