The recent furore surrounding the Beijing Olympics has been a disaster for the Chinese government as it tries to present the country in a positive light on the world stage. Its well-oiled PR machine has been working overtime to quell negative newsflow, censoring images of the protests that dogged every stage of the Olympic torch relay.
