The emergence of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) has led to an increased focus on sustainability in the asset management industry. Yet, the events of 2020 have amplified issues within wider society such as inequality, diversity, healthcare, education, and climate change.

As a result, there is an increasing appetite among investors to own portfolios that seek to improve these issues beyond other categories of responsible investing, such as ESG integration or ESG screening; an investor population that looks to directly align and measure their investments according to their contributions to particular social and environmental outcomes.  What does this mean for the evolution of impact investing?
