Sexism in the City: 'Not much' has changed as sexual misconduct remains rampant

Barriers remain ‘stubbornly in place’

The Treasury Committee’s report into sexism in the City has discovered “not much” has changed since its previous inquiry in 2018.

In the Sexism in the City report, published today (8 March), the committee said the findings were "disappointing", considering that many of the barriers identified six years ago "remain stubbornly in place". Issues including maternity and childcare are still creating hurdles for women in their professional lives, such as missing out on promotions or pay progression possibilities. Similarly, women dealing with menopause were facing similar barriers, and the report called for not only better, but further progress on the matter, stating that women should not be forced to "leave their job...
