LGIM expands active equity team with second appointment

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has appointed Nigel Masding as lead manager of its Real Income Builder fund.

Masding joins from Longview Partners, where he was a partner and global equities research analyst. Prior to this, he worked at HSBC Halbis Capital Management and First State Investments. This is the second hire for the firm's Active Equity team this month following the appointment of Stephen Message from Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) at the start of August.  The L&G Real Income Builder fund was launched in January 2015 and was previously co-run by head of inflation plus strategies Nick Hartley and Olivia Treharne, who will remain as deputy manager.
