Octopus hires Citigroup director for smaller companies team

Joins group as fund manager

Octopus Investments has hired Chris McVey from Citigroup as a fund manager on its smaller companies team.

McVey (pictured) joins the team to focus on the management of the Octopus AIM inheritance tax portfolios, the Octopus AIM Venture Capital Trusts and the FP Octopus UK Micro Cap Growth fund. He joins from Citigroup, where he was a director for seven years, most recently specialising in UK small- and mid-cap analysis.  Prior to this, he was an investment manager and analyst at Gartmore, where he also focused exclusively on FTSE AIM and UK small-cap equities; he has some 16 years of experience in the industry.
