Banyard adopts 'absolute return mentality' for Free Spirit fund

Sanford DeLand has unveiled its Free Spirit fund for recent hire and former Schroders manager Rosemary Banyard, her first multi-cap fund based on a pension mandate she ran for her former employer.

Banyard (pictured) joined Sanford DeLand, known for the £78m UK Buffettology fund run by managing director Keith Ashworth-Lord, last October after ending her 18-year stint at Schroders as she "needed a change". Despite several job offers, Banyard chose to join Sanford DeLand for several reasons, including an attraction to its focus on business perspective investing.
