Tilney Bestinvest appoints replacement for outgoing chairman Covell

Tilney Bestinvest has announced that outgoing chairman Mike Covell will be replaced by TSB Banking Group's chair Will Samuel.

Samuel became chairman of TSB Banking Group through IPO after the de-merger from Lloyds Bank in 2013, and has worked for over 35 years in the City in a number of executive and non-executive positions. Samuel began his career at Schroders in 1977 in its investment management division, before being appointed as managing director of the Schroders Investment Banking business in 1986. In 2004, Samuel joined Lazard & Co as vice chairman and from 2011 served as a senior adviser at the company.
