UK GDP revised up to 0.6% for Q3

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has said UK gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.6% in Q3 2016, up from its previous estimate of 0.5%.

In its final growth prediction for July to September 2016, the ONS said GDP has been in line with recent trends, despite the period being in the wake of the UK referendum at the end of June. The 0.1% uptick in GDP in volume terms from November's estimate was put down to upward revisions from the output of the business services and finance industries. It marks the 15th consecutive quarter of positive growth for the UK since Q1 2013.
