Mirae Asset to broaden UK focus with bolstered alts range

Mirae Asset Global Investments is planning to launch additional alternatives products to UK investors, including a macro long/short hedge fund strategy, as part of plans to widen its overall European product range.

According to chief executive Jung Ho Rhee (pictured), the Asian asset manager will also increase its focus on fund selectors such as wealth managers, and private and wholesale banks via its core offerings in Asian equities.  In particular, he said the company will focus on pushing its $740.8m Asia Great Consumer Equity and $434.9m Asia Sector Leaders funds accessed via its London-based European distribution hub, which currently houses 17 Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS sub-funds.
