Ex-Waverton CEO Grootenhuis joins former colleagues at S.W. Mitchell

Stuart Mitchell, founder of S.W. Mitchell Capital, has hired his former Waverton colleague Hugh Grootenhuis as special adviser to his boutique, Investment Week can reveal.

Grootenhuis has spent the past six years as chief executive of Waverton Investment Management, previously known as JO Hambro Investment Management (Johim), as chief executive but began working there in May 1999. He stepped down from the role in May last year, leaving former Kames CEO Andrew Fleming to fill the role. Mitchell (pictured), and a number of colleagues at his firm, worked alongside Grootenhuis before S.W. Mitchell was established in 2005.
