Henderson's Bennett: I wish I had greater access to European small caps

John Bennett, head of European equities at Henderson, has said he wished he could increase his weighting to small caps in his open-ended funds, as they currently offer the "best value in Europe".

The fund manager (pictured) admitted he is struggling to find the same kind of  opportunities in the large-cap space, where he normally invests. He said due to liquidity issues he struggles to access small caps (which he defines as under €1.5bn) through his open-ended funds, particularly the £2.2bn Henderson European Select Opportunities fund. "It is hard for us to get small caps into our funds, where I think there is the best value in Europe," he said.
