S&P Capital IQ considers sale of fund research unit

S&P Capital IQ is to explore strategic alternatives for its fund research business following an internal review.

The data provider, part of McGraw Hill Financial, is to explore "a full range of alternatives" for the unit, previously known as Funds Management Research (FMR). That follows an internal review of S&P Capital IQ's product portfolio. The company will continue to run the division and provide full support to ongoing client activities while it looks at options for the business.
