Aberdeen readies global small-cap offering for Docherty

Aberdeen Asset Management is preparing a global small-cap equities fund for Stephen Docherty, Investment Week understands.

The launch is being considered for early next year depending on market conditions, although plans are yet to be finalised. Aberdeen's small cap range for UK investors includes the £140m UK Smaller Companies and £79m Global Japanese Smaller Companies funds. Stephen Docherty is head of the £21bn global equities range at the firm, running a team of 14. He is lead manager of the group's £994m World Equity fund, the £117m World Growth & Income fund, and their Luxembourg domiciled equivalents: the £1.8bn Global World Equity fund and the £901m World Equity Income fund.
