BlackRock has launched an Absolute Return Bond fund for Ian Winship, targeting positive performance above cash in all market environments.
Winship will invest across all fixed income sectors, including global rates, emerging markets, investment grade, high yield and others.
The company said the fund will also utilise BlackRock's 400-strong fixed income team worldwide in order to help achieve its target.
The fund will also use derivative enabled strategies where appropriate, under the guidance of Winship, a senior portfolio manager within BlackRock's fundamental fixed income team.
Winship joined BlackRock last Octoebr from Brevan Howard Asset Management, where he managed the company's Absolute Return fund. He was previously head of global rates at Aberdeen Asset Management.
"BlackRock has a strong pedigree in the absolute return sector, having launched the UK's first equity absolute return fund in 2005, and extending our range into the fixed income space is a natural extension of this expertise", said Tony Stenning, (pictured) head of BlackRock's UK retail business.
