Threadneedle to launch global bond fund for Cielinski

Threadneedle is planning to launch an absolute return bond fund for head of fixed income Jim Cielinski.

The Luxembourg-domiciled Threadneedle Global Opportunities Bond fund will launch later this quarter, subject to regulatory approval. The offering will be the first Threadneedle retail fund to be run by Cielinski, who joined from Goldman Sachs last year. The fund will look to achieve an absolute return by diversifying positions across the fixed income spectrum. It will invest in developed and emerging market government bonds, investment grade and high yield corporate bonds, asset backed securities, currencies and fixed income derivatives.
