Skandia Investment Group has handed F&C’s Peter Lees a £21m mandate for the group’s UK Best Ideas fund, replacing Colin McLean of SVM Asset Management.
Lees, head of UK equities, has an 18% weighting in the fund alongside Schroder's Richard Buxton, BlackRock's Richard Plackett, Aegon's Audrey Ryan and Artemis' Jacob de Tusch-Lec, while OMAM's Dan Nickols makes up 10% of the fund.
The fund is managed by Lee Freeman-Shor, Ryan Hughes and Francois Zagame.
Freeman-Shor says Lees will prove to be a strong addition to the fund as he looks to profit from opportunistic investment ideas.
"His prior experience has led to him adopting an ‘all-cap' pragmatic approach whereby he exploits strategic, tactical and opportunistic investments," Freeman-Shor says.
"This approach, paired with the support of a strong UK team gives Peter the maximum chance of generating focused alpha and in doing so helping the UK Best Ideas fund to deliver strong returns for investors."
