Gaiser joins Pictet in fixed income expansion

Former Threadneedle bond manager Roman Gaiser has joined Pictet Asset Management as head of high yield, while Andres Sanchez Balcazar joins as co-head of the global and regional bond team.

Gaiser will be joining portfolio managers Alexander Baskov and Prashant Agarwal in the PAM fixed income team in April 2011. He was previously senior portfolio manager at Threadneedle, co-managing the firm's €3bn European high yield bond franchise. Balcazar will join Pictet in March, as co-head of the team that manages CHF6bn of assets. He joins from Western Asset Management, where he was a senior portfolio manager responsible for global macro, asset and currency allocation.
