Cazenove Capital Management and Russell Investments have each boosted their UK regional teams.

Cazenove says it has appointed Jonathan Simmons from Prudential to build its relationships with IFAs in the north of Britain.

Simmons' role is newly created at the asset management group.

Robert Thorpe, director of UK advisory sales at Cazenove, says: "Simmons' experience both at Prudential and previously at Invesco Perpetual will be welcomed as Cazenove Capital's funds business continues to grow across the UK"

Meanwhile, Russell Investments has hired three people to its UK private client services team.

John Dowson, regional director for North England, joins from Scottish Widows, where he was an investment development manager providing sales, marketing and technical support on investment issues.

Alistair Wilson, regional director for Scotland and Northern Ireland, joins from Skandia where he worked for 19 years, including as a regional sales manager in Scotland.

Lester Curley, regional director for the Midlands, joins from Standard Life where he was business development manager for the sales investment team. He has also worked for GE Life and Aviva.

Peter Hugh Smith, Russell's managing director of UK private client services, says the recruits "bring a wealth of retail experience, which will help us drive forward our business in this area."
