Axa, NDF and L&G are all launching bonds offering exposure to the FTSE 100. The Axa Active Protector Bond does not have a fixed life and offers investors access to up to four funds, each giving exposure to the FTSE 100. One vehicle offers protection of 70% of the highest value of fund, while another offers 80%, except in the instance of a 25% or more fall in the FTSE 100 in a single day. The four funds are structured by using a mix of FTSE futures and active cash management exposure, which is reduced as markets rise and increased as they fall.
