The impending retirement of Humphrey van der Klugt, the manager of the Schroder UK Equity and Income funds, is not expected to lead to any significant portfolio changes. Van der Klugt, who will leave Schroders on 31 January next year, will hand over the responsibility for both mandates, worth a combined £1.1bn in assets, on 1 October 2003. Nick Purves will assume responsibility for the Income portfolio, while Christopher Metcalfe is to take over the UK Equity fund.
