Unicorn founder Peter Webb has hit back at arbitrageurs trying to gain control of the Eaglet investment trust. Webb, who is also manager and shareholder of the fund, has put forward proposals to the fund’s board of directors to re-organise the trust which would provide cash realisations to the activist investors. Management consultancy firm Knox D’arcy and three offshore arbitrage funds, QVT, Quintessence and Laxey Partners, have built up stakes in Eaglet and sought to place three new directors on the board at the AGM in December.
