Rather than stepping back to admire progress, the Franklin UK equity team celebrated its fifth anniversary at the group by taking advantage of the most volatile six months for UK markets over this period. As the FTSE 100 lost 10% of its value since last August's Black Monday sell-off, Paul Spencer, manager of the £990m Franklin UK Mid Cap fund, says the investment team has entered a period of "genuine structural change" after five years of relative stability.
