"Accept certain inalienable truths: prices will rise; politicians will philander; you too will get old," says Neptune's Robin Milway.

This piece of advice through an essay by Mary Schmich has been a useful rule of thumb throughout my financial career.  Given the market reaction to the new Trump administration since last November, it is probably worth revisiting this line. But in the context of the Trump administration, I will switch "philander" to the more modest term "disappoint".  It is still far from certain that the President can achieve his stated goals, even the most economically sensible ones, such as reducing corporation tax.  The political capital needed to do this is not inconsequential and requires ski...
