Former musician Jourdan orchestrates top-quartile performance for CF Amati

A little-known fund has trumped more established rivals to clinch a top position in the UK Smaller Companies sector.

The CF Amati UK Smaller Companies fund is ranked second out of 57 funds over one year to 11 February with a return of 59.5%, according to Morningstar, ahead of veteran funds from Standard Life Investments and Old Mutual. The sector average for this period was 36.7% The Amati fund took fifth position (with 67.8%) over five years, compared to the sector average of 29% for 45 funds. Over three years, it is ranked fourth out of 56 with a return of 66.6%, compared to the sector average of 32.5%.
