Managers Harker and Edwards break from 2008 position to outperform Japan peer group
Stephen Harker and Neil Edwards have been jointly managing the GLG Japan Core Alpha fund since its launch in January 2006 – a period during which the vehicle has consistently outperformed its competitors in the IMA Japan sector. The £616m fund – known as SG Japan Core Alpha until the GLG Partners takeover of Société Générale Asset Management UK in April – is ranked third out of 55 funds in the sector over one year to 17 August, climbing 25.2% against an average 5.3% gain, according to Morningstar.
